Course Launch Operating Model
Everything in This Course Launch Workbook
Your Launch Year at a Glance
Open the dashboard and see the year. Year total, launch net, evergreen, and launch share sit on the top row. Gross, ad spend, blended ROAS, and profit sit beneath. A banner names the year split and the blended ROAS, and flags if ROAS is below 3x or if launches are unprofitable.
- 8 KPI cards across revenue, marketing, and profit
- Banner flags low ROAS or unprofitable launches
- Net revenue by launch and evergreen-vs-launch charts
Audience to Net Revenue per Launch
One row per launch with name, date, audience, conversion rate, and price. Units calculate as audience times conversion, gross as units times price, and net revenue as gross less refunds, processing percent, processing per sale, delivery, and affiliate. Totals roll up at the bottom.
- Up to 4 launches with name, date, audience, conv rate, price
- Units = audience × conv; Gross = units × price
- Net revenue strips refunds, processing, delivery, affiliate
Ad Spend, ROAS, and Profit
Enter ad spend per launch. Gross pulls from the Launches sheet. ROAS calculates as gross divided by ad spend. Profit equals net revenue minus ad spend. Totals at the bottom give blended ROAS and total profit for the year.
- Ad spend input per launch
- ROAS = gross / ad spend (1.0x, 2.5x, 3.5x format)
- Profit = net revenue - ad spend per launch
Where the Money Leaks
A breakdown per launch of refunds, processing percent, processing dollar per sale, delivery (platform plus support hours), and affiliate commission. All five columns use the rates on Settings, so you change one input and every launch updates.
- Per-launch refunds, processing, delivery, affiliate
- All driven by Settings rates - change once, update all
- Totals roll up to feed the net revenue line
Twelve-Month Baseline Revenue
A single row of 12 monthly evergreen revenue numbers - the post-launch funnel that runs year-round through page sales, cohort waitlists, and order bumps. The total feeds the dashboard alongside launch revenue so you can see what each engine produces.
- 12 monthly evergreen revenue inputs
- Total feeds the year mix on the dashboard
- Launch share vs evergreen share at a glance
Two Charts on the Dashboard
A column chart shows net revenue by launch so you can compare cohorts directly. A second stacked column chart shows evergreen vs launch revenue by month so you can see when the year leans on launches and when evergreen carries the weight.
- Net revenue by launch column chart
- Evergreen vs launch monthly stacked chart
- Both update from the Launches and Evergreen totals
Configure It for Your Stack
Set business name, currency, and year. Then the cost structure: refund rate, payment processing percent and dollar per sale, delivery cost per sale, and the affiliate cut (percent of sales going through affiliates times commission percent). The workbook applies these uniformly.
- Refund rate (default 8%) feeds every launch
- Processing % + processing $ / sale per transaction
- Delivery cost / sale plus affiliate % and commission %
Up and Running in 15 Minutes
Start on Settings with your cost rates. Add launches with audience, conversion, and price on Launches. Add ad spend on Marketing. The Refunds & Costs sheet derives everything from the rates. Light gray cells are inputs - the rest is formulas.
- Settings, then Launches, then Marketing, then Evergreen
- Light gray cells are inputs - the rest is formulas
